Small Fry Community Theatre

What?

Welcome!

We are Small Fry Theatre and we are a forming Community Theatre group running from the Huyton area of Liverpool. We will soon be facilitating a 16-24 week adult drama group, with a view to co-creating an ensemble theatre piece, devised, created, written, rehearsed and performed by people from all walks of life, within the Liverpool area.

We are looking for participants to get involved and we are also looking for anyone wanting to become involved behind the scenes. Anyone wanting to get involved will not need to be a part of any specific demographic, i.e race, physical condition, sexual orientation, educational background or gender (However this is an adult theatre group, so participants will need to be 16+). So please, feel free to come along regardless of anything that you feel may normally stop you from getting involved in the arts.

This is not to say that we do not aspire to work on a professional level, we aim to create theatre to the best of all of our abilities and we have the training and desire to do so. We take inspration from practitioners such as Augusto Boal, Joan Littlewood and Keith Johnstone, we also work by the teachings and ethos of John Fox (Welfare State International), Tim Prentki and Dave Pammentor. If you haven't heard of most of these, don't worry, knowing the work of these practitioners isn't a pre-requisite for working with Small Fry, we would just like you to know where we come from. Our mode of working will be through practitioner led workshops, which will build the core of our performances and we will look to interweave essences of Clowning, Mime, Improvisation, Commedia Dell'Arte as well as Acting and performing skills, experiential workshops and various drama games and excercises.

So please, feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have and above all, get involved.
